Nana Visitor grew up in and around the theatre thanks to her performing family. Her mother was a ballet teacher in a dance studio in New York and her father choreographed many Broadway musicals. In fact this is where he met Nana's mother .
Nana was seven studying ballet at the dance studio her mother ran, and by age 14 she was in her high school musicals. soon finding regular work at her chosen craft.
Nana appeared in productions of "Gypsy" "My One And Only", "42nd Street", A Musical Jubilee, and The Ladies Room. As a young actress she secured an early film role in the 1977 film The Sentinel, a horror movie filmed in New York City. Nana had regular roles on the New York based soap operas "Ryan's Hope" and "One Life to Live".

Terry Farrel Born in Cedar Rapids Iowa, 19th November 1963 Terry Farrell became a professional model at age 17 when she signed up with the Elite modelling agency in New York City. She moved to Los Angeles in 1984 and made her TV debut 1984 ABC series "Paper Doll's" One of her other co-stars on the show was Jonathan Frakes, before he joined "The Next Generation" Production .
Terry made guest-appearances on "Family Ties" and "The Cosby Show". Other TV work included "Beverly Hills Madame" with Faye Dunaway. The TV movie "Deliberate Stranger", she also appeared in an episode of the "Twilight Zone" in which she played a mannequin who came to life at night. Terry has appeared the films, " Back To School". Hellraiser III: Hell On Earth released in the summer of 1992. This film was where she was seen and called to test for "Deep Space 9".
She didn't expect to land the DS9 part because she knew that the series had been casting roles months, She had to read for Rick Berman and director Dave Carson. Two days later, Paramount was negotiating a contract with her agent, however, she still had not been given the role.
Two more auditions later she had the role of "Dax" Terry Farrell was the final actor cast among the regular cast of DS9. Filming on "The Emissary" had already begun scheduling scenes around the uncast role of Dax. Terry was reportedly one of the only actresses who was able to grasp the concept of the character.
Terry says that that being part of the ensemble cast of DS9 is like working in a theatre company of actors. We're so lucky because there aren't any ego problems. Everybody is very professional. I wasn't prepared for this. I think the fact we all get along gives and have this chemistry really makes the show work, as it has for the other two Star Trek casts."
