Adelaide, the capital and chief city of the state of South Australia.
Situated on the Torrens River near the Gulf of St Vincent . Notable points of
interest include the Adelaide Festival Centre complex, the Botanic Gardens,
Government House,the Natural History Museum, the National Gallery . Every two
years there is the arts festival, just one of South Australia's feast of
festivals. Adelaide was founded in 1836 and named after the wife of the English
King William IV. Adelaide is an elegant city. Victorian or Edwardian buildings
are lovingly preserved, and homes of the colonial era . It is where cafes and
designer shops reside in buildings of a bygone era.
The Barossa Vally is one of Australia's major destinations, being known
all over the world for its quality wines. A home to many major wine producers
this area produces over half of the countries wine. To the east flows the Murray
River . Irrigation introduced in 1887 transformed the northern section into lush
paradise with a wide variety of attractions,and of course the vinyards
