THE MENAGERIE
Responding to a message from Captain Christopher Pike. Kirk, Spock, and McCoy beam down to Starbase 2. But a surprised Commodore Mendez tells them that there is no way this could be true, because Captain Pike is only able to communicate by using a flashing light. He has been crippled by delta rays.
Investigations reveal that Spock is responsible. Leaving Mendez
and Kirk on the planet, Spock takes over the Enterprise, and
tells the crew they are on a secret mission. He has Captain Pike
on board, McCoy suspects all is not as it seems,
Kirk and Mendez follow the Enterprise using a shuttle. Mr Spock
has to rescue them both. When Kirk comes on board he finds that
the computer is controlling the ship, and can not be disengaged.
Spock places himself under arrest. Then begins a very involved
court martial, involving images of Captain Pike on Talos IV. 13
years ago.
