THE ALTERNATIVE FACTOR

While scanning a planet below, Spock reports that everything in the scanning range for a short while ceased to exist, at the same time a human appears on the bridge, his name is Lazarus he is badly injured and pursued by the Evil one on the planet below. Starfleet tell Kirk that the disturbance they have experienced , has effected the entire galaxy, and he has to find a solution.
