THE DEVIL IN THE DARK

Deep in the mines on Janus IV, something is killing the Pergium miners. And captain Kirk has been called in to investigate.
Landing parties search the labyrinth of tunnels. Mr Spock says that whatever is killing the miners must have a reason. Kirk and Spock trace a creature and fire a phasers and injure it, but now that it is wounded it may become even more dangerous, using a partial mind meld, Spock learns that it is called a Horta. After the meld it burns a message in the rock which reads "No Kill I"
