The Enterprise has meets the USS Antares, to pick up a 17 year old boy, Charlie Evans, the soul survivor of a of a transport crash on the planet Thasus, 14 years ago. But Charlie is not your typical teenager, he has mysterious powers that allow him to cause havoc on the Enterprise, with the ship and the crew. The Thasians gave Charlie these powers so he could survive.
