Pavel Andreievich Chekov was born on Earth in 2245 of Russian decent an only child.
2263 Pavel Chekov enters Starfleet. while there he
becomes involved with a woman named "Irina" while he remained
dedicated to Starfleet ideals she is becoming more and more restless and they
part company when she decides to quit Starfleet. Chekov works well and in four
years later he graduates .
He has a great deal of respect for his hero Captain Kirk, and was very happy when he was assigned to the USS Enterprise NCC-1701 in- 2267 He is extremely proud of his heritage and is well know for taking Russian credit for most things, like Scotch was invented by a little old lady in Leningrad, it was very obvious that these comments were just humour and not taken to seriously.
His primary duty is navigation and sits along side Sulu one
of his crew mates. During his years on the Enterprise Chekov experiences many
exiting away missions, some in fact very dangerous he often saves the day but
not always intentionally he is a member of the landing party that goes to Gamma
Hydra IV , and he is the only one not effected by the rapid aging disease, after
many tests Dr McCoy discovers that when Chekov got scared on the planet it
released masses of amounts of Adrenalin to his body, and this was the clue
needed to cure the crew that are afflicted.
By 2271 Chekov is chief of Security aboard the Enterprise under the Command of Willard Decker, and then later Admiral Kirk. And is there to help with the V’ger incident, after this he is assigned to USS Reliant and then later Admiral Kirk. And is there to help with the V’ger incident. after this he is assigned to USS Reliant where he helps Captain Terrell search for a suitable dead planet to test the Genesis Device, while on the planet Khan Noonien Singh and his band of renegades put creatures in his body, this enable Khan to use him against Captain Kirk . Khan destroys the Reliant and once again Chekov joins the crew of the Enterprise.
Chekov helps Kirk and some of his crew mates steal the ship,
and go in search of MR Spock who died on the Genisis Planet, They have to get
his Katra home to Vulcan they succeeded in doing this. While travelling back in
time to 1986 in search of some whales, Chekov is helping Uhura find energy for
the engines of the Enterprise, when a security team on board the
"Aircraft-Carrier Enterprise" chases him, he falls and he is injured
so badly that he would have died if McCoy had not intervened with 23rd century
medicine.
By 2293 and the launch of the Enterprise 1701B. Pavel Chekov has become a competent and well respected senior officer, famous for having served with captain Kirk On The Enterprise, still friends with Sulu and he knows his daughter Demora, He is a guest of honour at the launch of USS Enterprise NCC 1701-B and introduces Demora to Captain Kirk. For the most part Chekov can look back on his career with many happy memories . Chekov is among the legends of Starfleet.
Christine Chapel gives up a promising career in Biochemistry to become a nurse in Starfleet, and then later she signs up for a five year deep space exploration mission on the USS Enterprise NCC-1701. She hope that taking up this position will enable her to find her missing fiance` Dr Roger Corby, an archaeologist who disappeared in Exo-III, she put this to one side and was always professional, performing her duties as nurse to Dr McCoy .
These were mainly to organise the duties of the orderlies,
and other medical personnel, and helping McCoy with physical examinations, she
has the ability to anticipate what a given situation will require, showing not
only her intelligence, but also her dedication to duty, when the Vulcan
ambassador Sarek suffers two heart attacks she had already checked Spock medical
file to see if in an emergency, Spock could be a blood doner for his father. She
assists with the cryogenic open heart surgery, and stays by his side until he
has recovered.
She finds DR Corby After Captain Kirk searches for him on Exo-III, Chapel and Kirk beam down to the underground caverns on the planet, Chapel once again embraces her Fiance`, but this happiness is very short lived, Christine discovers to her horror that Korby is in fact an android, the Roger Korby she had loved died a long time ago, replaced by a cold calculating robot. She continues on with her five year mission among the stars.
Chapel is attracted to Spock but she knows this is really one
sided, she rarely lets her guard down but she finds it hard to hide her feelings
for Mr. Spock, he is aware of how she feels, but can not return her affection.
When nurse Chapel is infected by the Psi 2000 virus Spock’s Vulcan resolve is
stronger than hers, there seems to be a connection but it is not love. This is
perhaps the key to her character and why she is committed to her profession, it
helps her forget her love for men who can never return it .
Chapel’s training as a nurse leads to studying medicine in more detail. She returns to earth after her five year mission on board the Enterprise, she studies to become a doctor, and in 2270 she returns to the Enterprise for a second tour of duty this time as a doctor. Chapel is able to demonstrate some of her skills during the V’ger incident, she is there for Spock when he mind probes V’ger and was in grave danger. This time as his doctor.
After this she takes up a post to Starfleet Command, where she is called upon to direct emergency operations after an alien probe attacks Earth in 2286. The abilities Christine has shown throughout her career her caring skills her ability to work under pressure , her medical skills have made her perfect candidate for this crucial role, and allowed her to aspire to the top of her profession.
