Apophis, is being pursued by Goa'uld death rays, The sworn enemy of the SGC, asks for the mercy of the team. He shows signs of having been tortured and is now dying, he promises all the knowledge of the Goa'uld but in return he wants a new host body. O'Neill rejects his offer.

Apophis tells them he is being pursued by a powerful Goa'uld named Sokar, The god of death. who was conquered by Apophis in ancient Egyptian times, Sokar will kill anything that stands in the way of him and his adversary Apophis. The team's Tok'ra friend, Martouf, tells then that Apophis must be sent back or all those around him will be destroyed
