Bill Shatner was born in Montreal on March 22, 1931. He wanted to work in Commerce but in College he switched his studies from commerce to acting. HE moved to New York where he expected to do well.

In 1966 he the was star of the Science Fiction series Star Trek as Cpt. James T. Kirk. Bill' worked with Leonard Nimoy and DeForest Kelley. from 1966 to 1969. On the original series. Then performing in seven of the "Star Trek" movies. Making his directing debut in 1989 with Star Trek V, which he also co-starred and co-wrote. He was in seven star Trek Movies from 1979 to 1994 all very successful.

After "Star Trek" Bill avoided being typecast. With the different role, that of a police officer in "T.J. Hooker." Then the real life drama show "Rescue 911," which we do see here in Australia .

He also has helped write books recounting his work on the series and the movies . "TekWar", the first of the "Tek" series and his first novel, was released in 1989 and made the bestseller list within two weeks.
